Blumenthal Votes to Confirm Denis McDonough as VA Secretary

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a member of the Senate Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, voted today to approve the nomination of Denis McDonough to be Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs:

“The VA has significant challenges ahead to meet our veterans’ needs and Denis McDonough is the staunch advocate veterans need in their corner. He understands how urgently we must improve health access and outcomes for veterans, and that aging VA facilities like the West Haven VA must be repaired or replaced. Denis McDonough is fiercely committed to putting into action the Biden Administration’s bold vision for tackling the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring veterans are prioritized. He is firmly committed to working in collaboration with other government agencies to combat white supremacy and disinformation within the VA and across the government. I cast my vote in favor of his confirmation today with confidence.”
