[Hartford, CT] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) issued the following statement regarding Eversource’s preparations for Storm Henri:
“Eversource’s recent statements purport to show that it is preparing for the hurricane by staging crews that can respond to power outages. While I am pleased that Eversource claims to have learned lessons from the past failings, I will be watching their actions closely. Connecticut’s people and businesses should have power restored quickly and reliably and deserve clear, accurate information promptly and accessibly. Local and state officials deserve truthful, timely communication.
“I want to thank the frontline workers and emergency responders who will be serving and sacrificing over coming days. They will be away from their families, working long hours, often under difficult circumstances to restore our power and keep us safe. They deserve our support and gratitude.”
