Blumenthal Statement on the Massacre of at Least 35 Civilians, Aid Workers in Myanmar

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) released the following statement after dozens of civilians were killed in Myanmar on Christmas Eve:

“The brutal killing of dozens of civilians in Myanmar – including two dedicated Save the Children staff – is a horrifying and blatant breach of international law and humanitarian standards. The senseless, tragic murders of these innocent civilians are only the most recent tragedies among horrific waves of violence and human rights abuse in the region. I will demand that the culprits be held accountable by international bodies like the UN Security Council as well as the United States.”
