Blumenthal Statement on the Confirmation of Emil Bove to Serve as a Judge on the Third Circuit

[WASHINGTON, DC] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement after the Senate voted 50-49 to confirm Emil Bove, President Trump’s former personal defense attorney, to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit:

“Emil Bove’s confirmation is a travesty. He is about as unfit and unqualified as any judicial nominee to come before the Senate in my 15 years here. Emil Bove epitomizes the Trump demand for fealty to him above all else. He is vindictive and vengeful, just like the President who nominated him. And I fear that his approach to justice prioritizes the politically powerful over the regular citizen.”
