Blumenthal Statement On Passing of John Droney

[Hartford, CT] — U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal made a statement today on the passing of former state Democratic party chairman John Droney.

“John Droney was a giant— an incomparable community leader, public servant, litigator, and, of course, politician. He helped shape countless careers, including mine, with insight and encouragement. His wit and wisdom were legendary. He saw politics as a virtuous calling, a vital means to helping every day, ordinary people. I will miss him deeply as a friend and mentor. My thoughts and heart are with his wonderful family,” Blumenthal said.
