(Washington, DC) – Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) released the following statement today praising the House of Representatives for voting to end the F35 alternate engine program for the Joint Strike Fighter:

“This vote to eliminate the F35 Joint Strike Fighter alternate engine program is an important step toward ending unnecessary spending while advancing a program vital to our national defense. I applaud members of the Connecticut delegation, including Representatives John Larson and Joe Courtney, for their significant work to implement the strong recommendations from the Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. I look forward to joining Senator Lieberman and my Senate colleagues on both sides of the aisle to stop this unnecessary spending.”
