Blumenthal Applauds Robust Submarine Funding in Initial Biden Budget Request

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, applauded the Biden Administration’s specific inclusion of funding for ballistic and attack submarine programs in its initial budget request for Fiscal Year 2022:

“President Biden’s initial budget request recognizes the paramount importance of robust funding for next year’s submarine building program and investing in the next generation attack submarine. I was proud to welcome the Acting Secretary of the Navy, Thomas Harker, to Connecticut just this week to visit the men and women at Electric Boat who will be building these vital platforms. I applaud the Biden Administration’s clear recognition of the critical work being done here in Connecticut and look forward to seeing the detailed budget submission that should include robust funding for not only submarines, but helicopters, jet engines, and our entire defense production chain.”
